As you can see from my previous post I was caught up in the whole E3 hype… that was until I got a call from the hospital asking me if I wanted to take advantage of a cancellation to get my dental op sorted… This then turned into having 3 teeth out and then a wisdom tooth out, which then got infected which meant a whole lot of pain for most of last week and the weekend just gone.

Doesn’t look like I missed much though, the best thing to come out of E3 would appear to be the new 3DS from Nintendo… 3D gaming on a handheld without the need for silly glasses? well done the Big N!

Been in too much pain to do much gaming, however I do now have Red Dead Redemption and Darksiders to play. Both of which look to be excellent games from brief plays of each so I am looking forward to getting stuck into each of them.

Played the demo of Crackdown 2 last night, was about as fun as the first game, maybe more so its a must buy for me in July when it comes out.

This week I am also excited as the new iPhone is launched, time for me to upgrade my now ageing 3G model for the new iPhone 4, although I have a feeling the stores will be packed with people trying to get their hands on them. I will brave the masses on Thursday!

Not really, its a great conversion from the PC and the touch controls work great. So it is still a great game that I can now play on the move. However a couple of things were a let down for this release, a couple of the modes are missing (Survival, Puzzle, Zen Garden and Mini-Game modes) and the frame rate suffers a little when the screen gets busy.

Hopefully PopCap will release a few updates to fix these issues though, and at £1.79 I can hardly complain too much. Bit of a shame that the iPhone release didn’t get any platform exclusive features, but fingers crossed there is more to come!

Having now owned an iPhone for the last year and loving it I tend to like hearing what Apple has up its sleeves and ever since their tablet PC was rumoured months ago I had been looking forward to the unveiling.

Full features can be found here.

It basically is a XL version of the iPod Touch or iPhone, which means it suffers from the same limitations as these devices, who wants a tablet PC that can’t multi task?

Yes it has the same good looks we would expect but the odd old school 4:3 aspect ration of the screen is a bit of a let down. 10 hours battery life is good though, although knowing Apple this will probably not be the case if the iPhone is anything to go by.

Apples first gen hardware is usually a bit flaky so it will be interesting to see how it holds up when released in March/April.
